From August 5th onwards, you'll also be able to buy and sell unique and high-quality items from previous eras on DaWanda. In our new Vintage category there'll be a spot for all kinds of rediscovered gems from the past, so that they can be sold to those who can give them the love and care they deserve. If you love items with a real story behind them, or if you've got a thing for true old-school style, you'll make plenty of finds in the Vintage category.
We're very pleased that with the high-quality products featured in our new 'Vintage' category, we can not only increase the variety of unique and unusual products on DaWanda, but that we can also attract the attention of ever more buyers. In addition, we're presenting the variety of items on DaWanda more clearly by creating a new category. Because vintage products need no longer be mixed in with newly handmade Products with Love.
What does 'Vintage' mean on DaWanda, and which type of products can be offered in this category?
Vintage products on DaWanda should be high-quality products, which were created at least 20 years ago. They can be products from the areas of fashion, accessories, jewellery and bags, and also design objects, or furniture, antiques and other stylish treasures and collectibles. The vintage products offered on DaWanda can be both handmade or reconditioned by hand, and can originate from industrial manufacturing. As with all other products on DaWanda, these products should be 'Products with Love', and the special significance of the item to the seller should be made clear.
How will vintage products be integrated into the DaWanda marketplace?
Vintage will be integrated into the existing DaWanda structure as an independent main category. The 'Vintage' category has a variety of sub-categories, so that you can appropriately organise your precious items, and they can be easily found. In addition we have assembled the most common characteristics per Vintage sub-category. Plus there is a new feature by which you can differentiate between items depending on their age.
Buyers can search specifically for vintage products. We have created a unique option within DaWanda's search tool to allow this, keeping this separate from the standard search option. Below you'll find an overview of the different subcategories within our Vintage category:
