Large Vintage Linen Storage Basket/Bag - polkadots & bloomsThis lovely large storage basket/bag is made from vintage linen mangle cloth and has three flowers hand printed on the front and back of the basket. I designed the flowers, cut them into lino and used environemental friendly, waterbased fabric paint to print the design onto the basket/bag. There are two handles, one on each side to carry the basket. The basket is not stiff, stiff but can stand without support. The basket measurements are approximately: top opening 27cm (10.5'') by 22cm (8.5'')
This basket is ideal to store toys, cloths, crafting supplies etc. in any room of the house. The basket can be washed on a wool cycle, as well as steam ironed on medium to high heat. **Some more detail on the material used (for those of you interested :-)** Mangle cloths were used by our great and great great grandmothers with old roller ironing presses called mangles to protect other fabrics as they were passed through the mangle.
The basket is lined with felted wool taken from recycled vintage blankets; this gives the basket some volume and structure. Some interfacing to the sides gives some more structure.
