Dramatic as a Shakespearean performance, this romantic, one-of-a-kind necklace features a large butterfly and flower pendant entirely crocheted by hand in rich hues of lavender and amethyst. Wear this design with a plunging neckline, or over a higher one for a more casual look.

*Pendant*
The pendant is composed of two hand-crocheted elements~ the butterfly features amethyst, natural pink freshwater pearls, Swarovski crystal and the daintiest glass seed beads on the wings of silk. The butterfly's body has a large tumbled nugget of amethyst as a thorax and a beautiful faceted oval of ametrine for the head. From there, two slender antennae of vintage glass seed beads and light amethyst rondelles spread out. The butterfly wings are edged in 2% gold real metal thread and fine chips of citrine.Like real butterflies, no two Edera Jewelry butterfly motifs are the same!

Suspended beneath the pendant is a rose in muted shades of purple. In the center a vintage glass rhinestone nestles among the petals of silk thread dotted with delicate glass seed beads. The flower is edged in silver metallic cord for an interesting contrast to the gold of the butterfly motif

Dangling from the flower is a single, show-stopping drop of faceted rainbow fluorite in a rich, deep, amethyst color threaded on a 14k gold-filled headpin.

From the top of the butterfly to the bottom of the rainbow fluorite drop, the pendant measures 6" long, and 3.5" at it's widest part.

*Chain*
The meticulously hand-linked chain of 14k gold-filled wire features two more of the large faceted rainbow fluorite nuggets on either side of the butterfly and then tapers into a pattern of dark amethyst nuggets (like that on the thorax) and lighter amethyst ovals and faceted rondelles.
The chain is approximately 16" and is designed so that the graceful curves of the tops of the butterfly's wings rest just beneath the collarbone.

*Clasp*
Picking up the silver of the rose motif, the clasp is a large sterling silver toggle finished off with a large dark amethyst nugget, freshwater pearl, amethyst faceted rondelle and a Swarovski crystal bead on a 14k gold-filled headpin.

*Finishing*
Both of the crocheted motifs are backed in vintage black velvet, meticulously hand-stitched to the design. The piece is signed by the artist with a hand-embroidered label.
