Based on a wonderful Arthur Rackham illustration. We take these plates exclusively from antique books and clean and recolour each image with great care in order to restore it to its original quality. This is a beautiful Alice bag that can be used for your tarot cards, as a jewellery holder, a small cosmetics and “odd and ends” bag, or simply hung up for display. It also makes a stunning present when filled with your choice of small gifts. The quality of these bags is lovely. They’e beautifully made in a range of fabrics – either 100% silk dupion or shantung. Finished with Czech gold-coloured braiding and matching stitching with metallic thread. Czech glass bead finials (we have these gorgeous, chunky beads made specially for us).
Printed individually (by us) in our new improved (from autumn 2007) technique. This bag is very vivid and luscious in colour and now fully dry-cleanable too. The print is absolutely fast and won’t fade. At approx 14 cm by 20 cm (5.5 inches by almost 8 inches) these are a really useful size - and if you want to store tarot in them they are large enough to use for even the most over-sized cards - or they will comfortably hold jewellery, cosmetics or odd and ends. They are also lovely simply hung up for display.
This listing is for a bag in a very Victorian shade of plum/purple shot through with a dark gold. However, it can be made in other colours that we have in stock - for example, this bag is great in copper, taupe or wine red. Please let us know when you order if you'd prefer one of these colours instead of the two-tone silk shown.
Please note that although we try to keep these bags in stock, at busy times we may have to make to order for you. This takes a week to ten days.

We expect payment within one day of purchase, unless you agree with us in advance. Regretfully, we will cancel orders that have not been paid after three days.
We don't use courier services such as DHL as they tend to be far too expensive for international orders. For the same reason, we don't usually ask you to pay for insurance for parcels, we find that sending them registered is usually enough to ensure their safe arrival. From the time we send, parcels generally take a week to ten days to most European addresses (though for some reason certain countries can be slower than this), between one and four weeks to the USA (Fortunately four weeks is rare! But it can happen if customs stop the parcel) and three to four weeks to Australasia. We'll always do everything we can to make sure that you get your order in good time.
