Handfolded Silver Origami Hawaiian Sea Turtle (Honu) Necklace - A Metalgami Sculpture

The honu are a Hawaiian symbol of longevity, peace and the spirit within. In Chinese mythology, the sea turtle also represents wisdom.

This Fine Silver origami Sea Turtle pendant swims gracefully on a Sterling Silver necklace. The handmade pendant is finely detailed and carefully crafted of fine silver (.999).

Since the sculptures are individually hand folded (not cast), each piece has slight variations. The curve of the head and back is unique to each turtle.

Note that the red & blue colors on the Honu shell are merely a reflection of the surroundings onto the polished pendant.

The Honu is an original design by Hapa.

it makes perfect sense, Hapa, thank you! This is really amazing. I thought they were made of paper and than covered with silver but it seems that you used silver sheets? And so small, too!
