This is an original oil painting from early November 2006. It was painted over the course of an afternoon at a life model session in Edinburgh. The pale skin tones of the model contrast nicely with the deep red background and her orange/brown hair. I'm particularly pleased with the sense of form and volume in the chest, and the expression captured on her face, plus it's one of the most aesthetically pleasing pieces I've painted so far. Definitely a favourite of mine, I hope it finds a good and appreciative home.

The painting is on a box canvas, stretched over a wooden frame, so it can be hung onto your wall immediately without any further framing. It has been given a protective gloss varnish that really brings out the colours and looks gorgeous up on a wall. The scarlet background continues along the left and right sides of the canvas, and the painting is signed and dated by the artist in the bottom right of the piece. It will be despatched in a box and well-packaged to prevent any damage en route.
