Scarlet Bird of paradise, Mosaic Window art - Waschbear DesignesGlass on glass mosaic window art, grouted in dark gray, wood frame in distressed green. The Scarlet Bird of Paradise is sitting quietly in a tree stretching out its long elegant tail feathers through the emerald green foliage. At first it looks inconspicuous... but then the light changes... a ray of sunlight strikes... and starts glowing in a bright brilliant ruby red!! I cut each and every one of the pieces of glass by hand for this picture. There are at least 8 different shades of green in the background, some of them with gold inlay which shows up when the bird is lit from the front. When you hold the mosaic up against the light the colours glow in deep jewel tones - its almost impossible to photograph, but looks absolutely stunning in real life!
