Wool japanese kimono fabric strawberry & green - Great TextilesThis woven patterned wool has a cheerful atmosphere. It is from an unused bolt of fabric that was designed for a japanese kimono during the late showa era (1947-1989). The colours are warm dark green, ivory and strawberry red (slightly darkened red like a ripe strawberry - sorry the photos make the red look too bright). It is either pure wool or about:
That is, it behaves like wool under a match, and yet it has a barely detectable stiffness and feel about it that suggests maybe it is not 100%. Though slightly stiff, it is a light weight fabric, not a winter weight. It is not tightly woven and has a little slub in the weave that gives it lovely texture. It is in great condition - well kept for decades. Length: 1 metre or 39.4 inches.
