French Butter Dish, Butter Crock and Butter Bell, or the old "Acadian Butter Dish"
Spread soft butter tightly into the lid…., fill approximately half of the bottom with water and add some salt, if you like…. The closed French Butter Dish will keep the butter fresh and spreadable - even outside the fridge! Outdoors in summer give some crushed ice into the water. Change water every 1-3 days. Fresh butter without refrigeration. The French Butter Dish Keeper is made of dishwasher-safe stoneware with 100% lead-free glazes and free of harmful substances.
Since 35 years we live and work in South-Germany (Bavaria) where we develop in our workshop pots, designs, stoneware- and wood ash glazes ourselves.

Our stoneware French butter dishes as well as our other ceramic pieces are thrown and designed on the potter's wheel and finally fired up to as high as to 1300°C in a gaz kiln in oxidation and reduction fire. That is why, our French butter dishes are dishwater safe and suitable for the microwave.
Please keep in mind, that each of our ceramic pots are handcrafted individual items, with some slight variations, certainly always matching together, but never being a blend item!
