The chinagraph has a rich waxy texture with strong tones, perfect for capturing the form of the woman's back. Indeed, even though the paper is black, black chinagraph is used at the darkest points of the image to increase the contrast. This artwork has been sprayed with fixative to prevent any smudging in handling or transit.
