This piece is done with traditional Chinese brush painting techniques, a unique, and ancient form of single-stroke painting which requires a calm mind and brush strokes that are precise, yet fluid.
The white unryu rice paper has been double mounted, for durability and beauty.
These sunny sweet loquats are ready to be picked.
A favorite in Hawaii and all over Asia, the Loquat is well known for its super sweet flavor and cheery yellow-orange appearance.
This loquat branch was done on white rice paper, using traditional Chinese brush painting techniques. Some of the ink that I used is hand-ground. The colors are done with Japanese watercolors.
This is a ONE OF A KIND piece of artwork. There will never be another one quite like it.
This painting is signed with my artist name chop "An Rui Ning" (the square stamp). It's also marked with my mood chop, which reads "Arriving at the Tao is not Difficult."
