"me and mama - artes

aacrylic painting on salvaged hard-bound book covers dating from
(as early as) 1900 up to the 1950s. i have also few ones done on late 1800s.

authentic salvaged materials. artwork
and painting done on discarded hard bound book covers. if i get lucky, dinsintegrated book spines are included in the artwork. with an intent to show beauty of age, grace and art in shabbiness, and have a glimpse and feel of the past amidst the demand and craze for the new and shiny things.

The daughter and mother sitting on a bench illustration is from a print ad published in November 2007 by
CVS Pharmacy, and the rest are hand painted and embellished.

While the hard bound book cover is from the book "The nearer and the Farther East" by S.M Zwemee and Arthur Brown. Published by Mcmillan Co. Copyright 1908.
