Red Polka-Dot Flowers -- Original Watercolor Pa... - Something Different!"Red Polka-Dot Flowers" I love the colors in this piece! I tried out a new paper for this painting. It's 140# cold-press and has a good white tone--not too bright but not dull either. I really like the way it "holds" the pigments in multiple layers of washes without losing vibrancy. I think this piece would look great in a simple black frame! This piece depicts stylized tulip-type flowers in a vibrant red color. They are set against a background of grey dots. The background has been left white so that the image seems to pop off the page. Also, one thing that I really love about this painting is that you can see the dots through the red of the flowers (because watercolor paints are translucent). Overall this piece measures 8x10"--a very sweet size. Also a standard frame size for a store-bought frame!
