The basis of this necklace is a beautiful ,large, intricately detailed, silver ox egyptian beetle which was made from 1950's vintage tooling. The beetle suspends from an 18 inch high quality ,bright silver plated chain which closes with a silver plated lobster clasp.

The pendant is quite large and measures 5.6cm (over 2 inches)

In Egypt the Egyptian Scarab Beetle is considered a very symbolic figure due to their association with the Egyptian god, Khepri who they believed pushed the sun across the sky.These beetles became ancient Egyptian symbol for rebirth, the ability to be reborn. Each day the sun disappeared, always to rise again and be reborn the following day.

This is a definite conversation piece.
