Table runner from vintage Japanese obi - JILSGoodsThis table runner is made from a woven, vintage Japanese obi. The obi is woven with silk threads and that is why the figures have the luster of the silk. The background is in beige color. The motifs are some of the most typical for Japan – chrysanthemum flowers in different shades of beige, off white and orange, chrysanthemum leaves in pale green, congratulatory knots and tassels, autumn maple leaves colored in orange and palanquins. As a whole the table runner is mild in color, the most saturated of the colors being the orange one. The ends of the table runner are in triangular form and finish with tassels in gold color. The lining material is in gold color with no luster, in tone with the front side of the table runner. You will see some traces that time has left on the obi, but that is what antique, vintage textile carries with it self. Instructions how to keep the item in good conditions will accompany the runner when sent.
