Japanese golden folding screens, wonderful book - joandsonjaThe white cover of this little book does not give away what is shown on the inside: page after page of wonderfull colour photographs of Japanese room screens, called Byōbu in Japanese. The book describes (in German) one of the most exciting eras for folding screens: Momoyama (1568-1615) which was literllay called the "Golden Age". It was originally written by Elise Grilli, who produced books of outstanding merit on the Japanese art scene and moved to Tokyo in the 1940s.
