A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.” - Coco Chanel But also fun & unique! Enjoy reduced shipping fee when you buy more than 1 item Vintage 1940's Coro Golden Flower Brooch - Absolutely fabulous!Magnificent vintage 1940's modernistic flower brooch by Coro. Detailed, exquisite, tridimensional, with a fabulous design, the textured gold tone metal-work gives this brooch the appearance of motion. Outstanding! This is perfect piece for jazz up the most simplest outfit and get a vintage, dramatic look. Personally, I like to use this kind of pieces to pin a strap dress when I go to formal events. However, as a "(vintage) pin-addicted", I pin everything: scarfs, purses, fabric belts, necklaces... Although its age, this brooch is in a perfect condition. A fine example of Coro vintage jewellery, marked "Coro" in script. In business from around the turn of the 20th century until the late 1970's, Coro was one of the most, if not the most, prolific costume jewelry companies of all time. First founded as an accessories boutique in New York City,by Cohn and Rosenberger (=CO+RO), Coro expanded to include its own manufacturing facilities in 1929. Overseas expansion became a priority in the 1930s both in Europe, establishing the Corocraft brand in England in 1933,and Canada. Richton International Corporation of New York purchased Coro in 1957 and continued production at the Providence factory into the 1970s. Coro ceased ongoing operations in the U. S. in 1979 and continued producing jewelry in Canada until the mid 1990s.

Shop FAQ
What is "vintage"? Vintage is a generic term for new or second hand garments, costume jewelry and objects made in the XX century, precisely between 1920s and 1980s. Everything that was produced before the 1920s is referred to as antique; production after 1980s is called modern or contemporary, not vintage. Most of vintage items are pre-owned and used, but there is a small percentage of pieces found in warehouses (the so called "new-old stock") or forgotten at home in their pristine condition, some of them with their original tags. MY RULE: I only list items which I would be happy buying or receiving myself. I try to be very honest, thoughtful and accurate when describing my items. However it is important to ask everyone to be mindful that my items are VINTAGE, it means that these items carry a small piece of history and, most of them, they have been a part of someone else's story before they arrive to you. |
