A sure eye-catcher are the triangular-cut, spiky pieces of the fascinating blacklip oyster shell ( from which by the way the black Tahiti pearls originate), being on one side a milky white and smooth mother-of-pearl, on the other side darker, almost black and slightly rough.
The pendant-part with a total length of about 12 cm ( 4 3/4" ) consists of a 15 mm round paua-shell bead with true colours and hues of the ocean, and a huge white mother-of-pearl part, about 7,5 cm x 5 cm in size ( 3" x 2" ). There are lots of 3-4 mm silver rondelle beads and also the hand-wrought closure is 925 Sterling. A necklace to be seen with!
