'Tea Time' (Photography)

There is nothing like the intricate designs of kimonos. Kyoto is the old capital of Japan and old customs and traditions are exhibited in everyday life.
I was happy to be able to capture these two young women on their way to a tea ceremony (chadō). I love the radiant colors of the fabric and it's as if the dyes from their kimonos are dripping off the photograph.
This photograph is part of the 'Dentō' series which means 'tradition' in japanese.
This photograph is limited edition, printed on Ilford professional satin matte photographic paper and signed on the back.
The watermark appears only on this example and not on the actual print.
Dimensions: 11.5" x 8.3" (29.5cm x 21cm)
