I marmi utilizzati provengono tutti da cave italiane: il simbolo al centro e la cornice esterna sono in MARMO ROSSO DI VERONA, mentre lo sfondo bianco è composto da marmi di diverse qualità:
prevalentemente BIANCONE, con qualche inserto di TRAVERTINO ROMANO e BOTTICINO.
Sono partita da lastre di marmo e ho ridotto progressivamente a martellina, le dimensioni dei pezzi sino ad ottenere la tessere della forma e dimensione desiderata.
Ciò è chiaramente visibile dall’irregolarità di queste forme e dall’aspetto ruvido.
La superficie non è levigata: l'intenzione è quella di mantenere viva la pietra, che mantiene il suo aspetto grezzo e irregolare.

*Il pannello ha già sul retro un piccolo gancio per essere appeso al muro (un chiodo è sufficiente).

The marbles used come all from Italian pits: the symbol in the centre and the external frame are in MARMO ROSSO DI VERONA, while the white background is made up of marbles of different sorts: principally BIANCONE, with some inserts of TRAVERTINO ROMANO and of BOTTICINO.
I began working from the marble slabs to get the tesserae and I gradually reduced the size of the pieces until I got the tesserae with the size and shape I wanted, through the patient work of the mosaicist who uses the martellina.
You can clearly see it from the unevenness of these shapes and the coarse look of the tesserae.
The surface is not smooth because my will was to keep the stone vivid, so it keeps a coarse and irregular look.

*The panel already has a small hook in the back to be hung on the wall (a nail is sufficient).
