A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.” - Coco Chanel But also fun & unique! Enjoy reduced shipping fee when you buy more than 1 item Vintage Lisner Golden "Fern" Brooch - Absolutely fabulous!Vintage abstract free form gold tone brooch from the 1960s by Lisner jewelry company. To me it seems like a fern with branches as twisted ropes. This abstract leaf-like design can also be seen like an abstract wave, textured with bright goldtone finish in a curved wavy pattern. I find very interesting and with many possibilities, like pin a simple dress, blouse, scarf or start a good conversation... Marked Lisner with block letters with elongated L and copyright symbol (first use in 1959). Strong and heavy piece. Wonderful condition. A little bit of history: The Lisner Jewelry company was originally known as D. Lisner and Co. avid Lisner and son, Sydney, ran a wholesale import business in the early part of the 20th century, importing jewelry and gift items from Europe. For nearly 30 years after its 1904 founding, Lisner imported and sold Elsa Schiaparelli's Parisian jewelry in the United States. However, in the 1930's importing became difficult and the company turned it's attention to producing it's own costume jewelry for retail. They used Providence Rhode Island as their base. Lisner purchased Richelieu-Jewelry in 1978 and became Lisner-Richelieu Corporation but shortly thereafter the company was sold again.

Shop FAQ
What is "vintage"? Vintage is a generic term for new or second hand garments, costume jewelry and objects made in the XX century, precisely between 1920s and 1980s. Everything that was produced before the 1920s is referred to as antique; production after 1980s is called modern or contemporary, not vintage. Most of vintage items are pre-owned and used, but there is a small percentage of pieces found in warehouses (the so called "new-old stock") or forgotten at home in their pristine condition, some of them with their original tags. MY RULE: I only list items which I would be happy buying or receiving myself. I try to be very honest, thoughtful and accurate when describing my items. However it is important to ask everyone to be mindful that my items are VINTAGE, it means that these items carry a small piece of history and, most of them, they have been a part of someone else's story before they arrive to you. |
