:::More Descriptions: We are pleased to offer this elegant hand-carved Khmer sculpture of the divinity figure 'Uma DEVI" She is portrayed in a convincing frontal posture with a well defined nake upper body, wearing a long vertical striated Sampot folded over a highly decorative belt, secured around her hips, and adorned by a central sash which terminates in a stylized fish-tail flang at the germents hem. :::She is wearing a conical headdress above an intricately carved arched interconnected Diadem (crown), embellished with circular rosettes, rings of jewels, and centrally adorned with a seated 'Amitabha' Buddha figure. :::Her youthful face with indigenous Khmer characteristics has a serene expression, with gently arched eyebrows accenting her incised almond-shaped eyes and well proportioned nose. Her mouth is finely sculpted with voluptuous lips smiling. On each side of her face are typical Angkorian style elongated earlobes, falling short of her shoulders. :::This skillfully executed image of Uma is a stylistic example of the khmer culture and its dynamic artistry. The figure is beautifully presented on a black museum display mount, and stands approximately 18.0 inches in height.
