I Have No Direction In My Life Tote Bag - The HipsteryI left a good job to start this clothing business. A respectable job. Friends and family didn't understand that decision. I made good money, I had a career, what more could I want? That stupid t-shirt business thing, that was never going to work. They often asked when I'd give up and get a "real job". Why did I always have to rock the boat? I wanted to rock the boat, precisely because the waters were so predictably calm. I wanted to throw myself overboard and headfirst into my interests, to get completely lost in them, regardless of if they could pay me, or even "made sense" in the natural order of this. Yes, there is a natural order to things: You go to school, you go to college, you go to university, you get a job, you work hard and try and get a better job, you find a partner, you start going to dinner parties, you get married, you buy a house, you produce miniature versions of yourself, you get a dog, you move to the suburbs, you take new jobs, you like them maybe sometimes, other times you don't, but you do them because that's what people do and you need money. You're an adult. You are living the dream, right? Only, maybe it's not your dream. Maybe your dream is to backpack around Africa, or start a French new wave band, or drive Route 66 in a convertible, or write a book of Haiku's no-one will read, or moonwalk on the Great Wall Of China. But those don't make sense, right? Or so people will tell you - "the time isn't right. Hang on until you are old enough, have enough money, enough experience, you are getting closer to that next promotion, hang on in there a bit more, you've rent to pay after all." They will say all these things because they don't know what you know - the joy in walking the road less travelled, especially when you have no idea what direction you are walking, or where it will lead you. This is for us. Trust in serendipity. Laugh in the face of naysayers. Go get thoroughly lost in your passions, you'll never be happier. Printed on a 100% cotton, black tote with long handles. A neon silver print that will turn heads. The bag itself is 38 wide and 42 cm long. Together with the handles it's 70cm in height.
