Vintage Avon Round Pendant/Brooch - Absolutely fabulous!Lovely vintage piece! A little brooch with a bale so it can be worn as a pendant too. Nice! Round shaped, floral motif, glass covered, with a frame made of small faux pearls set in gold tone metal. In great condition, no scratches. It is a solid, relatively heavy piece and very well-made. From the Seventies. Imprinted with "Avon" on the back, and the letters "SP". Includes a chain with 45 cm + 8 cm extender. This chain is new, not vintage. The Avon company has a long and interesting history. Many people may not realize that its inception actually dates back to 1886 when the company started life as the California Perfume Company (CPC). It wasn't until 1928 that products were first sold under the Avon brand name, and in 1939 the company changed its name to Avon Products Inc. Today, Avon is known the world over for its range of beauty products and fashion accessories. Since the early 1970s, Avon has been selling jewelry items. Avon uses a range of well-known designers and jewelry companies to create their products.

What is "vintage"? Vintage is a generic term for new or second hand garments, costume jewelry and objects made in the XX century, precisely between 1920s and 1980s. Everything that was produced before the 1920s is referred to as antique; production after 1980s is called modern or contemporary, not vintage.
