SOLID SORREL sind fabian niermann und steffen greisiger. beide studierten an der leipziger hochschule für musik und theater.
greisiger spielt ein fenderrhodes, das wie warmer regen, bindfäden, manchmal graupel auf wiesen fällt. niermanns tenorsaxophon singt. weint. giesst blumen.
Dem Duo geht es in seiner Musik um die Abkehr vom Klischee des Herkömmlichen ohne die Errungenschaften der Jazztradition zu verleugnen, diese aber stets auf ihre eigene Weise zu erneuern. Die Kompositionen von SOLID (SORREL) entspringen vor allem der Improvisation, wodurch eine sehr intime "solid (sorrel)" eigene Atmosphäre entsteht.

fantastische aufnahme mit analoger hi-end technik. cd kommt in limitierter auflage im aufwendigen handgemachten pappcover mit magnetverschluss.
