Portrait of a Lady - little wooden book
|
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
This is one of my little wooden books with cut-up pages and sentences all taken from the book 'The Middle Age of Mrs Eliot'.
I find a sentence or some words that I love, put them together, then design the pages to go with them.
I like each page to work on it's own as well as being part of the finished book.
Each book is a labour of love.
This is a 5 page book (including cover) made of birch ply and paper and it opens up concertina-style.
The conversation reads:
"I've had a terrible day Bettina." "Oh?" she questioned. "I wanted her to like me and she was so grumpy." "I don't care twopence", she said. She began to pencil in her eyebrows.
Open concertina: 37cm x 6cm x 8cm
Folded: approx 8cm x 6cm x 8cm
