This little curled deer has been modelled from pictures of baby deer hiding in the grass waiting for their mothers to come back.

This Deer is ceramic & has been raku fired, it has been decorated with a rust colour slip then cut through to show the clay beneath for the white spots on it's back. It has then been glazed with a clear crackle glaze to give it that recognizable crazing from the raku firing process.

It is 14cm wide x 13cm Long

It is available in rust or white as shown in the two pictures.

It has been made by me & is stamped with my CH stamp on the base.

THIS IS A STOCK PHOTO AND THE ACTUAL PIECE DELIVERED WILL VARY SLIGHTLY DUE TO THE HAND MADE NATURE OF THIS PRODUCT

Raku is rapidly fired until glowing hot (1,000° c); it's then taken from the kiln whilst still glowing and placed in a container of sawdust: these instantly combust, the animal is then covered with more sawdust and left to cool, it is the amount of time given in the open air that causes the crazing.

This Deer is NOT suitable for keeping outdoors.
