At the top of these striking hair sticks are black and genuine silver 'Desert Sun' beads. 'Desert Sun’ beads are plated with genuine silver (or gold), with a top coat of color. They are then fired, which causes the color to shrink away from the plating, forming 'fissures' of silver or gold in a colored bead. Ruby red faceted Czech fire-polished glass beads, with silver-plated bead caps and round beads, complete the tops of the sticks. Czech fire-polished beads are glazed in a red-hot oven to produce beautiful, glistening colors.

The dangles are made up of more ruby red Czech fire-polished glass beads and jet-black glass faceted rondelle beads.

The hair sticks are hand-carved from hardwood and protected with hand-rubbed tung oil. They have a functional length of 6 inches / 15 cm and total length of approximately 7.25 inches / 18.5 cm.
