Product description
These special garters are made in the same way as a traditional garter but have a sixpence sewn into them for luck. The garters are available in either white or ivory, with the traditional blue for that symbolic purity! If you would prefer your garter made in a different colour then just let me know. Every garter is made to order using beautiful bridal lace and satin ribbon, handmade ribbon roses and bows and many other decorative features. It is hand stitched and unique, therefore please allow 10 working days for your garter to be created and posted. The photographs above show a couple of examples of Sixpence Garters I have made previously. No two garters are ever exactly the same! Fabrics or trims may vary from the photographs due to their handmade nature and availability of materials. This makes each item unique. All sizes quoted are approximate. Exact colour matches to photographs cannot be guaranteed. A lovely gift to be given at a bridal shower, hen night or on the day of the wedding. This garter is a perfect gift for the bride, a special keepsake and investment that will increase in value over the years. Please note that the sixpence used is a genuine circulated coin dating from 1954 to 1967 but is not silver. The silver content of the sixpence was reduced to 50% in 1920 and from 1947 they were made from cupro-nickel (an alloy of copper and nickel that is silver coloured). Silver Sixpences available upon request. Please contact me for a quote. Delivery Charges I will combine postage for multiple purchases if purchased and payed for together within a 3 day period, so if you see anything else you like please request an invoice at checkout and wait for me to send you a combined invoice before paying! I always obtain a proof of postage receipt but please pay for the postal insurance or i will not be liable for any lost items. I will however, endeavour to help track any lost items. If you require Recorded Delivery this is available for an additional 70p. My Postage costs cover all packaging and labeling materials, along with a tiny charge to cover petrol and my time. However if I do find that I have over estimated the charge of postage and packaging by a great amount I will always refund the difference! If your order is urgent or its order date is close to a major holiday e.g. Christmas please contact us as we can send it, at an additional cost, by Special Delivery, this is a guaranteed next day delivery service. Most orders for in-stock items will be despatched within 24 - 48 hours after your payment has cleared. For all made-to-order and personalised items I aim to despatch goods within 14 days of receipt of order, depending on stock availability, NB because many of my items are handcrafted on occasion I may run out of stock; however, if an item you order is temporarily out of stock, I will notify you of the estimated date of despatch.
