Gifted fellows might create their own one – otherwise you have to buy an expensive handmade one or a cheap import which both often happen to look very sentimental. The Berlin artist Oliver Fabel thinks/ is of the opinion that we might not need such «iconographic ballast» anymore and has created his own crib version of simple wooden pieces with printed descriptions on it. Astonishingly enough, the reduced group of figures works out well to eye and mind, for the image of the Holy Familiy and their visitors is so familiar to us. A smart idea for purists!
