Tale #3: New Orleans. A year in the crescent city.
"Our house was yellow and green. In the afternoons the street was sleepy as a lullaby. The rooms in the house lines up single file. Three empty rooms in a row and then the kitchen and finally a bathroom. There was no hallway in between them. Houses like that are called shotgun houses and though most people know why there's no harm in saying it again. If you shot into the front door the bullet will go straight through the house and out the back door with no walls to get in the way."
