MATERIAL INFO
Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc. In its pure form, the metal is completely skin-friendly and, like silver, rarely causes allergies.
In contrast to costume jewelry made from coated metal mixtures, brass is of extremely good quality. Brass will never lose its subtle matt gold color but will tarnish over time, which is also common with precious metals such as silver or gold. The pieces of jewelry are therefore characterized by their longevity. And it is precisely this ability to change its appearance through tarnishing that gives the piece of jewelry its very own individual touch. Each piece of jewelry creates its own nostalgic charm through external influences. The bare brass pieces are not coated or painted for these reasons.
Depending on the condition of the skin, the oxidation process occurs more or less quickly or does not occur at all. If this process is undesirable, it can be reversed with simple home remedies. A suitable solution for this is, for example, a bath in vinegar, lemon juice or even ketchup for several minutes, followed by rinsing under running water. A silver cleaning cloth or a special metal polish for brass or copper from the drugstore can also remove the oxidation. For more intensive oxidation, sanding with fine steel wool or very fine nail files with a flexible core (not made of metal) has proven useful.
