Vielleicht die schönste Hosentaschengeschichte.

Eine junge Frau zieht sich zurück. Sie verlebt den Winter alleine in der Apfelhütte. Nur ihr Vater kommt ab und zu durch den Schnee gestapft, um schweigend neben ihr auf der Veranda zu sitzen.

Und so fängt die Geschichte an:
"Als sie in die Apfelhütte einzog, wollte sie nur für ein paar Tage bleiben. Außer dem Schlafsack hatte sie nichts mitgebracht. Mit Sonnenuntergang zündete sie die Kerze an, kroch hinein und besah sich die Apfelhütte. Sie war aus schiefen Holzbrettern gezimmert. Die Bäume mussten viele Äste gehabt haben, denn hunderte von Augen starrten sie in dem schummrigen Schein von den Wänden her an. Merkwürdige Maserungen verbanden die Astlöcher miteinander."
