Cleanse and invigorate yourself with the scents of sweet orange and lemon! Lemon essential oil is a natural astringent and detoxicant; sweet orange essential oil is warm and comforting, a perfect winter scent. I also add tea tree essential oil to smooth the scent and for its beneficial effects on your skin.

My bath salts use only 100% all-natural ingredients -- no fragrance oils here! A specialty blend of epsom salts, sea salts, borax, and kaolin clay form the base of all of my bath salts. Epsom salts are an old familiar remedy for aches and pains -- my mother used to soak her feet in them after a long day teaching. Sea salts are a relative newcomer to the scene but add luxury to your bath.

The borax may surprise you -- it surprised me when I heard about it as an ingredient in bath salts! But like it does when added to your laundry, it'll help lift both excess oils and soap residue, leaving your skin soft and clean. And the kaolin clay exfoliates and helps stimulate circulation, but is mild enough for use on the most sensitive skin. I also add Vitamin E oil for its beneficial effect.
