Cherry Red Lampwirk Beads (set of 4) - Bat Chen Designs

The core of the bead is white encased with design of clear and cherry red glass.

The mixture of opaque and clear glass creates a beautiful wavy look in the glass and reveals many shades of red.

All of the glass work I make is formed in a flame with a torch that burns propane and oxygen. The pieces are annealed in a kiln to release stress from the glass and make the pieces strong and durable.

I am a goldsmith and have made jewelry for quite a few years. In the process of my work I came across some glass beads and fell in love with this amazing material!
Since then I can't stop using my torch! I work with soft and Borosilicate glass, making almost anything I can imagine… In my work I combine goldsmith's techniques lampworker's techniques.
I now teach glassblowing as well, in order to pass on the magic to others!
