Morocco - My personal dream of a thousand and one nights.
A few years ago I fulfilled this dream, boarded the plane and landed in another world. Marrakech awaited me with the most intense colors, the most diverse smells, and with people whose faces showed warmth.
The souks captivated me. I began to take an interest in the history of the Imazighen, the "free people", also known as Berbers. Crafts that are forgotten here in Germany are still everyday activities everywhere in Morocco. I was able to watch a silversmith working on a piece of jewelry and was fascinated. This led to my interest in old jewelry from the native population in particular and ultimately to the desire to collect these pieces.
But that's not all. I was also so taken by the colorful clothing worn at weddings and decorative objects in all the colors of the rainbow that adorn the traditional mud houses of the Medina that I always returned to Germany with well-filled suitcases. The desire to bring the warmth of Morocco into my home was great. Sharing this fascination and also making room for new acquisitions - this was the original idea behind creating this virtual souk for special finds from Morocco.
I hope I can give you an insight into the diversity of a Moroccan souk. Enjoy!

Viel Freude!
