Bajidoo Art
My Bajidoo Art is created on any surface I can muscle into submission, like art clocks, collector boxes, paper, canvas and lampshades using the swirls, curves, circles & lines of Mehndi art - married, rather randomly to realism and my view of real life, viola! my special brand of Bajidoo art.
I work in mixed media, most commonly watercolor, aquarelles, markes, pen & ink, and acrylics - but I also work with henna paste that I mix especially for my purposes or creating art on wood objects.
NOTE: Natural Henna Pasted is used to stain wood if the image is dark brown to burgundy. If it is black, the method used includes henna with a man-made dye additive to produce the black stain.
Natural Henna on wood is a multistep process, the paste takes several days to mix and cure in order to produce a stain. Then the paste (thickness similiar to thin toothpaste) is hand applied in decorative detailed patterns. The paste is left to dry for several days before removal. In about 8 to 10 days the stain begins to darken based on the wood and the paste the stain may turn deep burgundy or dark brown. The entire process takes about 3 to 4 weeks per piece.
