How should I store my jewelry properly ?

Jewelry should not be stored loosely in a bowl with other pieces of jewelry because the metal parts rub against each other and it can easily come to scratches. You can clean your favorite piece with the help of a toothbrush and lukewarm water, with very little dish liquid added. Silver oxidizes in the air, forming a gray to black coating. This so-called tarnishing of the metal is a completely natural process that does not compromise quality. You can remove the black oxidation layer with a silver cleaning cloth.

What is the difference between gold coating and gold plating?

Gold coating and gold plating are both galvanic coatings that can be performed in different gold colors. The coating is a much thinner layer and therefore carries off faster than the plating. The thickness of a coating is 0.1-0.2 microns, a gold plating is up to 10 microns thick. That's why all my jewelery pieces are goldplated or rose goldplated (basic material silver), so that you can enjoy it for a long time.

What's the difference between blackened silver and blackruthenized silver?

The natural process that silver tarnishs by exposure to air is used controlled in the method of Blackening. Only the uppermost layer of silver is colored, which can be rubbed off easily.

Blackruthenizing, on the other hand, is a galvanic process (similar to plating) in which the platinum metal ruthenium is applied and the surface turns black. These surface finishes can only be removed by heavy, mechanical wear. That's why all my jewels are blackruthenized in order to enjoy it for a long time.

How do I care for goldplated or blackruthenized jewellery?

You can clean your favorite piece with the help of a toothbrush and lukewarm water, with very little detergent added. The gilding, black ruthenation is not affected by water and dish liquid. Please do not clean with toothpaste or metal sponges, as the surface will be sanded and the top layer removed.

How should I store my pearl jewellery ?

Pearls are a natural product and their surface is soft and delicate. When in direct contact with harder materials, e.g. Metal or gemstones can cause scratches, so they should not be stored together with other jewelry, it is best to store them individually. Strong sunlight and storage near a heater can dry out the outermost layer of pearls. Wearing during a shower or bath or swimming pool or sea can also attack the surface. Please put on your pearl jewelry after the hairdressing and make-up and make sure that they do not come into contact with skin creams, soap, shampoo, hair dyes, etc.

How do I care for pearl jewelry?

You can clean your pearl jewelry with a simple soft cloth, with coarse dirt helps lukewarm water with a drop of dish liquid. Every 2-3 years the pearls can be gently rubbed with olive oil, which preserves its shine.
