Care instructions

Proper washing and dryingWashing temperature according to label - first wash at 95°CColored cloths should be washed for the first time at 95°C. The dye is then optimally fixed with the cotton.Do not use fabric softeners - to keep the wipes absorbent!Drying is best done in a tumble dryerIt makes terry towels pleasantly soft and fluffy and reduces the formation of fluff. But not too hot!Over-dried cotton becomes hard and can change in shape. Terry cloths dried in the open air or above the radiator also become hard.Jump inIt is a basic characteristic of all terry products made of cotton that they run in during washing. Depending on the tissue, the indentation is quite low at about 7 -10%.

Why terry towelling parts fluff

It is normal for new terry parts to fluff a bit at the beginning - especially high-quality and high-pile terry fabrics can initially replace loose fibers. To avoid stronger and persistent fluff, the material must not rub too much in the washing drum. Mechanical overuse can be prevented by a well-filled washing drum. Please note the filling quantity recommended by the machine manufacturer from the first wash.

Avoid excessive "shrinkage" or run-in

Due to the use of particularly fluffy cotton yarns, good and high-quality terry goods cannot be one hundred percent shrink-resistant. Terry products are not woven as tightly as e.B. denim fabric. Due to this property and the basic shrinkage process of the cotton, the brand-new terry goods run in during washing, which is referred to in the technical language "jumping in".With the 60° wash, the indentation is about 8-12% and when drying in the dryer, the maximum indentation of up to 15% is achieved.Lead time of shrinkage: 1.Laundry approx. 5 %, up to 10. Wash approx. 10% and at approx. 400 x 60° Laundry and dryer approx. 12-14%.Excessive "shrinkage"

What to do with pulled threads

Terry cloth is a loop fabric, so pulled threads can simply be cut off briefly. Since terry cloth is woven, no running meshes can be created. Avoid washing clothes with ticks or zippers together with terry cloth, this could lead to pulled threads.

Treatment of embroidered terry cloth articles

Terry cloth articles embroideredFor quality reasons, a foil must be placed on top of terry cloth during embroidery. If there are still film remnants on the towel, they disappear during the first wash. Some embroidery patterns have a high stitch density and therefore they need to be stabilized on the back to achieve the optimal embroidery quality. Non-woven remains then disappeared after repeated washing. You can wash your towel with 60° without damaging the embroidery or fading the colors. If the embroidery has contracted a bit after washing, it "floats" easily over the embroidery with a steam iron and it becomes smooth again.
