LolaBellsBoutique 08.10.2009 11:26Welcome to Dawanda. Sometimes in a growing market that is as popular as Etsy things like getting lost in the crowd is just one of those things that happens, believe us, we know. It can happen anywhere you go where tactful advertising and promoting is being implemented not to mention being a pioneer of the handmade movement. The more popular a site gets the more traffic it gets. And let us not forget that this includes many who want to setup shops as well as those who just want to buy. And let's also take into account that nowadays more people are saying,"Hey I can do that or I can make ...", you know, instead of buying it. The handmade movement is growing sooooo fast and has become an audible voice in the consumer market. And most of us welcome and wanted that. But like a flame, this can and has consumed some of us. MissBreezysbox,we also have to say that the listing protocol is awesome. Both sites have there rightful place in the ecommerce market and we wish all selling sites much continued success and growth for the sake of that audible voice that we have been given due to there existence because they have honored the handmade or artisan crafted movement. We are happy to be a part of Dawanda just as we are with being a part of some of the other sites that are out there. They are everwhere now, it seems. There's alway room for improvement everywhere you go. And with that in tow, there's always going to be complaints. However, constructive criticism is good. It keeps these enterprises on their toes in looking for ways to improve their sites and their strategy from every angle when dealing with their growing communities. Growth can bring with it weeds. That is, it may be accompanied by some undersirables, and in an awesome selling site like Etsy, someday maybe even Dawanda, that means for a lot of people getting lost in the ever increasing popularity and growth of the movement on these venues. Just curious, how long have you all been members of Etsy? Anyway, here's to keeping it positive, but keeping it real. It can be hard to juggle that sometimes without letting something fall to the ground,if you catch our drift. Peace!!

EvenAndy 09.10.2009 23:47I am new here too. I have an Etsy shop and have only had one sale. I love the listing process on this site. I hope that you all have great success here:)
LolaBellsBoutique 10.10.2009 07:13Thanks,EvenAndy,and you too!!
handbagcave 10.10.2009 23:03Hey there! I sell on etsy too. Still hanging in there. I moved to Israel and I know Dawanda is more European like so I decided to open my shop here. I sure like it and hope for the best. Welcome you all from a newcomer :D
MagicAppeal 05.11.2009 17:22Hello, I have Etsy shop as well and now I'm starting new shop here. What's with the views? I hardly get any. Is there secret to selling on DaWanda I should know?
MultiKulti 11.11.2009 12:58I just join DaWanda today.. Please take a look in my shop. :)
JDiza 11.11.2009 19:30it can be competitive but just keep it up
FacetsbyKathryn 12.11.2009 17:00I've been on Etsy for about 1.5 years with moderate success and on Dawanda about 6 months. Low and behold I have my first two Dawanda sales. I think I will be adding more items here as I like what I see and my items don't seem to be getting much exposure now on Etsy.
FatConnection 19.11.2009 03:45I've a shop in Etsy too, currently sales are from Etsy, as I'm new here, yet to have any sale. But I love the listing feature over here! Oh boy, it save me so much more than time.
MBDesigns 20.11.2009 16:56Oh WOW ! I thought I'm the only one who got tired of Etsy and their exclusive front page policies... It became so crowded, that new stores have actually no chance whatsoever ! looking for another website for my items I found daWanda and I enjoy it more ! Better and friendlier appearance, easier to use and definitevely nicer than Etsy. I'm so happy to be here !
englishmuffin 21.11.2009 17:25Hello everyone! I've enjoyed reading this thread. Sounds like there are lots of fellow/former Etsians here. I'm re-opening my shop here after letting it fizzle out about a year ago - here's to our successful selling wherever we are!

bigskyforkids 22.11.2009 16:14hi everyone .. i started on Etsy not long ago, and thought id try dawanda because of the European connection. something happened at etsy too, i did not like. To me the management did not live up to their supposedly " caring " philosophy they go on about. Im not going to go into it, but it made me doubt. Good luck to all. My new shop here is bigskyforkids. its very new. kevin
suziechaney 25.11.2009 09:38I have maintained shops on both etsy and dawanda for a while now, although I really only got properly active on dawanda last march. I've had about the same amount of sales on both, but I would say I prefer dawanda. Mostly because etsy is too big, so many of us get lost in the pile. But I also hate the way etsy sees itself as a brand, and promotes heavily those who fit their brand style, the rest of us can go hang. It's not a level playing field. Even if you keep relisting to try and stay at the top of the pile, at 20c a listing it becomes too expensive if you are not getting views anyway, and easy to get disheartened.
But I do like the way there is a much more active forum than here, and the storque is very useful. I will carry on (for now) with a shop there, but I'm not sure how much longer I will be bothered to.
Carmenesque 26.11.2009 09:23Hi!
Another disappointed here! I was selling there for almost a year and I barely had sales. There are just too many things there. I hope that I'll have some more success in Dawanda, so far everything is strange but in a happy and exciting way :) Can't wait to discover :)
