stylinbeadygirl 08.09.2008 21:57I have entered my bank #'s and want to start selling. However I dont know what to fill in the iban and swift boxes with (Im from the U.S.). It seems that I have to do this before i can upload my store items. Is that right? Kathy
Tizzalicious 16.09.2008 16:40If you want to accept bank transfers, you will need those numbers, or else you can't accept international transfers. I don't know if you have them in the US though!
lisa-dawanda 22.09.2008 14:51Dear Stylinbeadgirl,
in order to set up shop you do not need to fill in these banking details. If you have some technical difficulties, though, write a message to the feedback team.

dunibagz 09.10.2008 12:53:::Update:::
I've re-directed my question dd 6.10.08 to 'admin/feedback', so please disregard above question.Thx ☺
Mirre 18.11.2008 16:08I don't know whether this is helpful to anyone, but I've had problems receiving payment from German customers too (I'm Dutch).
Apparently, when transferring money in Germany it is possible to tick a box "international payment" or something like that. In that case no bankcode is asked.
It really works for me... in fact I solved a payment problem with it today :)Hope this is helpful!
FeeABastille 11.12.2008 00:15Hello,
I am in France and I got the same problem with a german customer, I gave my BIC and IBAN and she said it didn't work with her bank.
Finally she paid with paypal but I know they don't use it a lot in Germany (I don't know why?).Maybe Dawanda admin could publish an article on the 3 forums in the 3 language?
IrishMaz 13.12.2008 13:36I'm Irish and I'm having the same problem as everyone else here receiving payment from Germany. Thanks Mirre for that piece of advice. I have told this to my customer. Hopefully it will work!
Lightbluerose 15.12.2008 16:12And yet another buyer having problems with banktransfer from Germany. Another sale I have to cancel, it just doesn't seem to work.
Tizzalicious 22.12.2008 15:54Mirre, that's what I always tell them too. In fact, I have a whole bit of text I always paste when someone places an order. Maybe it's useful for some of you too. I have a lot less problems since I use this :) Some people still have problems, but usually it works well:
"Hallo!
Maartje // Tizz"That's it :P

StudioFour25 03.07.2009 10:54I had a buyer today who wishes to pay with a bank transfer. Even though I only accept paypal.
I am a little wary about giving out my bank details. Firstly - should I be concerned? Or is the SWIFT IBAN system secure?
Secondly - what if she sent me a cheque? Both her cheque and my bank account are in euros, but my account is in france and hers in germany. Would I incur lots of charges?
Thanks
Tee
kalicat 30.07.2009 18:54Hi Tee,
I have been receieving bank transfers to my French bank from Germany (and other countries) without any problem for many montha now. An Euro is a Euro, it does not matter which country you live in. ==> NO charges, just check with your bank if you are unsure, a quick phone call should put you as rest.
Also, I believe that giving somenoe your bank details only enables them to put money into yoru account, nothing more.
I hope this helps
