Yes your right, the first things i put on sale when joining have only perhaps one or two photos, since then i fill up the four spaces.(being a newbie i was'nt too sure of how to do things!) I must retake and fill up those empty spaces, i know now how important photos are. I'm also going through my items to put them in French too ,all this takes time but i try to do a little every day. It'll come!!

It does take a long time and its difficult to know what is most important when you start out! But you're definitely getting there! Looking good!

Thanks, i'm rying to get there, and i hope i will, i just love creating! Looking at your shop, your photos are so clear and they have a great background, they bring out the best of your creations. I'm still having a few problems with mine, finding the right angles ,backgrounds and such. I have a prety good camera,(a pentax optioMx) not the best and maybe a little out-dated but i have'nt got the means to buy a new one,so i just have to make do !

It could be so useful to have some constuctive advice Birdlandcreations, i've taken yours and this afternoon i spent time taking more photos to put on those empty spaces. Let me know what you think of it so far. This is a great thread that could halp many of us, thanks!

Jeannie's creations, your work is beautiful! Good luck with the photos, I have struggled a lot with photos too. Could you possibly list your items in German as well as French and English? I just say this because 90% of my buyers have been German, and I think if I had not listed in German, I would have missed a lot of sales. I think I would work a little on your banner too, the flowers are beautiful but they seem to be cut off at the bottom. I would move them a little further apart so you could have your name a bit bigger and horizontal too, rather than at an angle. Your work is gorgeous, I wish you the best of luck and hope that helped :)

Thank you both for your encouraging words! It does take time but i do so much want to get there, i love creating and would love to be able to sell my work instead of giving it away like i did at christmas time! My photos are'nt by a long way perfect but i'm getting the hang of angles and such and the background. As for listing in German, by internet i know that the translating is often way off, unless i can find someone to help but i don't know anyone who speaks German. Do either of you know how i could do that, possibly without paying or at least a very small sum?

The thing about listing in German is a good point! However, my German is not very good, so that would be a problem.

Sometime other Dawanda buyers and sellers will help you with translations. You could write a message in the German forum or the English one here and see if someone can help. Maybe you could offer to proof read their translations instead. It's a very supportive group so I'd give that a try.

And welcome to Dawanda. I see you haven't been here long. Hope you are enjoying it so far. There is a lot to take in and become familiar with but it's a great place to be and I wish you luck with your new store.

To offer a couple of suggestions... I find some of your photos a little too busy and therefore confusing. Maybe have simpler backgrounds without distractions to show off your items better. Also, under "materials" just use single words or two words rather than short phrases or sentences, separated by commas. The materials section is like the tags - so searchable words, rather than written descriptions. Feel free to ask specific questions if you have any.

- I have a Paypal account for quite some time now, but i have only made payments with it. I have never received any money / payments through Paypal, while i never have had a shop before.
I was wondering if you need to 'do' something with your Paypal account, to te able to receive payments?
(In case it makes any difference: i do not have a creditcard, my Paypal is linked to my regular bank account.)

- Except for some of the photographs, is there anything not clear about my shop or the items i listed?

- What do you think about the pricing? (I found it quite difficult to price the items...i have never done it before and i have absolutely no idea what people are willing to pay.)

I'll check out on the forums to see if someone can help with the translations and offer help in return or maybe a troc! It does take time and effort settling in and getting to the point where everyhing is done right, did'nt realise there was so much to improve on!

Welcome! Just visited your shop, it's very nice, but yes, you do need to work on your photos.I'm still working on mine too!
With a payment by paypal, they will notify you by e-mail to say you've recieved a payment and then you go from there, it's quite a simple operation actually.
