eleanorot 20.08.2009 14:38ola!
a few monthes ago i moved from berlin to portugal and am now selling my stuff from here. it works quite well and i am happy to see my customers in germany are not hesitating to buy despite the distance!
however, since moving i noticed that basicall ALL customers ar either based in germany or austria. despite supercheap national shipping i did not have one single customer from portugal!!
i am wondering if you are having a similar experience?
I would like to lobby for a stronger international focus at dawanda to aquire more international customers. certainly there are several ways of doing that:
- shop-search according to geographical criteria (such as as etsy)
- more language-options
- country/region/city-specific lists (such as already exist for trends)
etc...what do you think? what are your experiences? do you have more suggestions?

CatFromSpaceCreations 20.08.2009 16:49Hallo Nora!
I notice the same fact.
I'm Francesca and I live in Italy.
I started selling on Dawanda last February and I ever sell in Germany or France but never in Italy..
and I know ,Here in Italy lots of people are using dawanda...
so I'm wondering why..greetings
Francesca
eleanorot 20.08.2009 17:50hi francesca!
interesting...it seems people in some countries do not like to buy via internet, or...i dont know!
what i will do now is to use some dawanda merchandise (bags, buttons, stickers) and to distribute them at the markets where i sell. may be then people get more conscious and willing to buy at dawanda.
i guess that is the best thing i can do at the moment. and then, may be the dawanda-team starts to promote itself more internationally - lets hope!
greetings from porto!
