About Bella:

I am a wife and at home mom of three kids in the USA. I very much enjoy design, photography, sewing, reading, gardening, cooking and just being outside. I love textures and colors and drafting my own patterns.

Bella's Sewing Story:

I had never used a sewing machine and hated (still do) to sew by hand. I was taught as a young child to sew by hand by my grandmother. In her younger days she was an incredible seamstress. Though I gave up sewing anything except the laces on my pointe shoes for ballet. I didn't ever want to have anything to do with sewing. In December of 2006 I bought my first sewing machine. I bought only to do mending of my family's clothing and such. Well I had intended to take a class to show me how to use this funny machine. However I am not always a patient person and well I had something new in my house and I wanted to figure it out. Within an hour I had made a purse for my daughter. My husband thought that I had purchased it. The next day or so I made her an apron from a pattern I drafted myself. Mind you I had no idea what I was doing. It all just kind of happened. I then started sewing night and day and fell in love with creating my own patterns, designing my own clothing and clothing for my daughter. I basically went into business overnight and well it is turning out to be a great unexpected success. Many ask me "How do you do it". My response is always the same as it is the only answer, "God". He gave me this gift and he nourishes it. God is the only reason Bella Style Boutique is here and prospering.
