About me
The inspiration for Karje has grown out of the desire for a greater depth of expression in fabric and to expand the possibilities of how fabric can be perfectly integrated together with clothes in new and unique ways.
Starting from raw yarns: silk, cashmere and cotton, Karje subverts traditional knits and weaves to create innovative textile.
These fabrics form an essential part of the style of the finished garments. Pattern and texture adjust to complement the shape of the clothes, creating a more sculptural approach to fashion design.
The desire to push beyond the traditional forms of textile production create shapes that are recognisable yet new and intriguing. This produces a distinctive signature.
