Plumevine's Profile
About me
Inspired by nature, things of ethereal quality and times past, Lorianne Jäntti creates embellishments for enchanted souls seeking something unique and exquisitely romantic at her studio in Trondheim, Norway.
Her background as a computer graphic artist and training in clay sculpting provided the tools and understanding of balance and harmony with shapes and colours, which she now channels through her jewelry creations. Her work has been best described as ethereal, fairy-like, whimsical, romantic, elegant and has been sold in various boutiques in Norway, including: Indigo, Vår Varden, Rafia, Fairies & Wisdom, Giving & Living and Gaven. Currently, Plumevine one of a kind pieces may be purchased locally at Mazing in Olav Tryggvasons gate 16, Trondheim.
I consider my technique as mixed-media due to the variety of elements used in the creation of my pieces. I work mainly with resin clay and acryllics which I combine with all sorts of vintage and altered elements, such as czech glass beads, semi-precious gemstones, antiqued brass, copper and silver, found images, charms, fabrics, glass and more.
I create jewelry that I feel beings from magical worlds would wear. And even though I may have a plan for what I'm going to make, the work takes itself wherever it wants to go, and is quite unpredictable. To me it's a channeling experience without much thought and hardly any planning, but spontaneous, intuitive and completely inspired.

About Plumevine pieces and how they are created:
A light-weight resin based clay material is hand sculpted and embellished with a variety of elements such as gemstones, metals, glass, czech glass beads, found images, seashells and others.
The clay is fired at low temperatures and then hand painted with high quality acryllics. Each piece is given a number of coats and washes in different tones to bring it to life, and give it the signature "weathered" look of Plumevine pieces.
A variety of finishes are used and may be chosen from with the "Made by Order" line, such as "Found Mithril", "Ancient Silver" and "Antique Gold".
The clay pieces are fired several times during the creation process, resulting in better strength and durability.
Once the clay piece is complete, it is then dressed with varied elements such as chains, cords, ribbons, charms, wires, jewels and the like.
Each Plumevine piece is hand made by Lorianne Jäntti at her studio in Trondheim. Each an unique and wearable piece of art..

An answer to my most commonly asked questions:
I've been asked what my influences are and I could name a few, but the truth is that they all boil down to one common thing, and that is nature.
Everything that I've marveled at throughout my life has been inspired by or mimics nature, so I guess this would be the most accurate term.
I'm the person that stops to look at leaves, curls on branches, the markings on bark, the stammen of flowers, their glow under sunlight, the details of seed pods, the perfection of each and every little thing Mother Nature dishes out at us, because it's truly the most remarkable, most amazing, most incredible and magical creation I could ever conceive.
I do my best to recreate these things that I love from nature in my work, but I don't bind myself, like nature itself, to any structures or exact copies. I like the spontaniety of my process, where I'm not really sure what's about to come to life until it's finished.
Sometimes I will feel inclined to take a route that wouldn't be my number one choice, but the work itself wants to move in that direction and I simply trust it.
I think to myself that the person who the piece is really made for, will need it to be like that. So a great deal of my process involves an inner healing, because I learn to express what's in my heart, and trust that I also express the heart of something that is beyond me. Learning to let go of control and definition, much like nature itself.
My work also acts as a mirror through which I can look inside myself. For instance, I've noticed that I tend to make alot of windows or portals to other worlds. - I've always felt that there's a place somewhere else, intertwined with this one. I visit it in my daydreams, when I am surrounded by beautiful things, when I'm out in nature, when children play, when I'm being creative, in my dreams. Sometimes an ordinary moment becomes extraordinary and I see glimpses of this other place, like stepping through an unseen portal.
I suppose that's where the portal fascination comes from. But I also feel that my work acts as a portal to these worlds, and when I wish to do any sort of energy work I use my own pieces to act as gateways.
Some would say, they are also tools for magical works.
And unavoidably, from years of studies in Astrology, Tarot and other divination systems, Gemstone and Energy healing, these influences are also a part of what I do.
I've also been asked if I've seen faeries, my answer is yes I've seen one with my eyes, and too many to count in my dreams. I believe faeries are the voice of nature in spirit and are truly everywhere.
My desire is to inspire everyone to see the beauty of nature with childs' eyes, to be transported to a magical place, to be in a magical place each day and maybe, just maybe if enough people do this we may indeed find ourselves in the land of Faerie.

Regarding sold One of a Kinds:
I'm often asked if I can replicate one of a kind designs, I'm sorry to say that it's not within my policy to replicate one of a kind items, as they are intended to be owned by just one person.
But I can create a one of a kind piece in similar spirits to the previous one upon request.
The price range for these will be similar in most cases to the sold piece, depending on the cost of materials.
For quotes on completely original work, unlike my previous designs please visit my website, thank you!
