About me

*How I came to be...

It all started when my Dad's spaceship landed here in the universe of NYC, he settled for the dirty patch of lawns and 3,000 language speaking planet of Queens, New York...he found a good earthling, and she was an artist and humble tribeswoman who knew all the good discount stores, and then there was I, but I am mostly alien due to my Dada's bullying genes.

Okay so, that is the children's book version but the real story...or the one I tell full humans at least, goes like this:

*Who I am...

I am Mariam

I am a mother, wife (adoring that is), inie designer, activist

25 moons old

I started making jewelry when I had my little Moochie, Amir Gabriel.

I have a shrine of Menudo that sits over my work station and supervises my every creation (made by Clint of turtlecross.etsy.com).

Freddy Mercury comes to me in dreams, and I am sure that is inspiration too...

*Why The Hand Of Fatima...

In my culture the Hand of Fatima is a token of good luck, and all that I make is with my hands, hence the name...also my alter ego is Fatima...among others. ;)

*Why I did it...

Creative freedom to try new aspects of art, feel whole and productive again, keeping the intergalactic po-po off my trail...I took out a loan to buy a star, and only paid the the interest off, now I owe the Banco Universal over near Saturn.

menudo was a puerto rican music group back in the 1980's. ricky martin was one of the members, it was like an original boy band.:0)
