By providing an individual with a job and an opportunity to earn his/her own money one can equip him/her with a higher sense of pride and self-worth.
Setting up Africaworks is a dream come true for me. Whilst growing up in South Africa I observed the talented artists and their beautiful works. I realized that the local market was limited and that the artist does not have the possibility to present himself on the International Market.
I carefully select and take up direct contact with the artists. I insist that the artist is always paid the asked-for price and that the money goes directly to the artist. Where possible the artist is encouraged to employ more individuals from the community. It is an aim to assist the development of a country by supporting and promoting artists so that they can manage their own financially viable business.
