About me
Hello and welcome to my Dawanda page!
My name is Dagmar Korecki. I design and hand- make jewellery and small work.
I moved from Germany to the Uk (Oxford) in 2003, to study Art and Design at College, where I discovered my passion for metalwork and jewellery. After College I directly went on to study Metalwork & Jewellery Design at Buckinghamshire Chilterns University.
I graduated with a BA Hons in September 2008.
I am currently working at a residential workshop
as a self-employed jeweller and silversmith. My work is currently being shown at the JaM applied Arts Gallery in Eton. Upcoming Exhibitions include the V&A museum, Henley Festival and Art-in-Action in South Oxfordshire.
I especially enjoy working with precious metals, often mixed with various other materials such as porcelain, concrete and resin, creating a subtle contrast that is charming and elegant. I like the idea of combining traditional and modern elements and turning them into contemporary, ‘timeless’ pieces that provoke a feeling of nostalgia. I have a passion for the decorative and the ornate and often incorporate it into my work.
