About me
As a mother, I was tired of the same old mass produced tops and toys from department and chain stores. I wanted something different for my little girl. So I started creating my own designs - she loves the T shirts I make for her and she absolutely adores her monster! I guess that is how the concept of my own label started. The name ‘kooka’ is actually the name that my daughter used to call her favourite soft toy.
At kooka, my aim is to create fresh and funky garments and soft toys that are of the highest quality, because our children are special and they deserve the very best.
Each kooka item is an individual statement, and very limited number of these are created each season. All my designs are original, and, naturally, are approved by my daughter!
I sell only premium quality cotton tops and T shirts, which are suitable for the sensitive skin of little boys and girls. All the appliqués are hand cut from fabulous fabric that I collect along the way, then fused and meticulously hand sewn. One-off or unusual elements are then added as embellishments. This ensures the individuality of each garment. Please note this also means custom products will look slightly different from the photos shown.
Each kooka monster is hand sewn from premium quality cotton with poly fill and felt or buttons as embellishment. Naturally, no two monsters are the same!
